Crown Princess Mary of Denmark added a touch of regal history to her outfit during the 18th birthday celebration of her son, Prince Christian.

The Danish royal family gathered at Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen to mark this significant milestone in the life of the future king.

Among the attendees were Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik, alongside their eldest son, Prince Christian, and Queen Margrethe, along with other family members.

Crown Princess Mary, aged 51, made a regal fashion choice by adorning her blue ensemble with the Connaught Sapphire Brooch, a significant and sentimental piece of jewelry.

This beautiful brooch holds deep historical roots within the Danish royal family. It originally belonged to Prince Christian’s great-great-grandmother, Princess Margaret of Connaught, and has been passed down through generations.

The Connaught Sapphire Brooch is not only a piece of history but also carries a personal connection for Crown Princess Mary.

Queen Margrethe gifted the brooch to her daughter-in-law to commemorate Prince Christian’s baptism. The brooch holds a special place in her heart, as it was worn during her son’s christening in January 2006.

Over the years, the Crown Princess has donned this magnificent piece on several significant occasions, including the christening of her twins, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, in 2011, and during Queen Margrethe’s Golden Jubilee celebrations in the previous year.

This sapphire brooch serves as a poignant link between generations and is a tangible representation of Denmark’s rich royal heritage.

It adds a regal touch to memorable family events and commemorates Denmark’s young heir’s coming of age in a distinguished and elegant manner.
